Foundress Day

On May 8 2023, we successfully held the Foundress Day celebration in the school hall to commemorate our Foundress, St. Magdalene of Canossa, under the sincere blessing of our Heavenly Father.

This year, we chose our school's yearly theme, "Embracing Love Exhibiting Gratefulness," as the theme of this event.  St. Magdalene of Canossa dedicated her life to God and resolutely gave up her noble life to help the poor.  Her selfless contribution truly serves as a role model for us and embodies our school's yearly theme.

The highlight of the Foundress Day was the Inter-class Quiz Show, organized by the Catholic Society.  It was divided into two parts: a compulsory section and a quick-answer section.  Every class sent three representatives, with one as the main contestant and two as the think tanks.  All contestants answered questions fluently and without hesitation, receiving endless cheerful applause from the audience.  The quick answer section created a tense atmosphere, with every representative competing fiercely and intensively. Class 2A from the junior group and class 3A from the senior group stood out with their profound knowledge about our Foundress and determination, winning the championship.  The second place went to class 1B and 2C from the junior group and class 3B from the senior group.

The competition was followed by a video introducing the history, values, and work of the Canossian Daughters of Charity.  The missionary fervor of St. Magdalene of Canossa in the video inspired Holy Familians to look beyond themselves and express their love for God and their siblings, loving them with all their hearts and as themselves.

Our Foundress once said, “Love is the fire that embraces everything.”  We must have one heart and one will, loving each other sincerely and without any distinctions.  May the Lord continue to unite all siblings in the Canossian Daughters of Charity and instill the spirit of our Foundress in the hearts of all Holy Familians.
