S1 Orientation Day

The S1 Orientation Day held on 7 September 2024 marked an unforgettable experience for all participants.  The highlights of the event included some exciting checkpoint games and a bridge-building session which required collective effort.

Following some ice-breaking games, S1 students listened attentively to the senior’s instructions, after which checkpoint games commenced.  A particularly memorable episode took place in the library, where the S1 students were divided into two teams for a tacit game.  They carefully observed each other for 30 seconds, strategically removing masks and watches to unveil distinguishing features.  Their unity and teamwork were impressive.

For the bridge-building activity, students’ creativity shone through. The cartwheel design was particularly astonishing.  Intermittently, groups also took turns to complete the cheer dance on stage, amidst rounds of applause from the audience.  As the remote-controlled car successfully traversed the bridges, cheerful smiles appeared on everyone's faces.  This truly embodied our school motto “United in love”, as we supported our peers wholeheartedly while fully enjoying the activities.

Overall, the event was a resounding success, strengthening the bonds among the S1 students and providing valuable experiences for me as a mentor.  With hearts united and spirits high, we built bridges to a brighter path!
