On 1 September 2026, the school campus once again blossomed with laughter and vitality as Holy Familians reunited after a rejuvenating summer break. Clad in our signature pink uniforms, we gathered in strength and joy to inaugurate the 2026–2027 academic year. The School Opening Ceremony was a heartfelt celebration of unity, renewal, and shared purpose. With open arms and radiant smiles, we extended our warmest welcome to our new S1 schoolmates and new teaching staff as they officially joined our cherished Canossian family.
The ceremony commenced with an uplifting and impassioned address by our Principal, Ms Cheng. This year’s theme, Embracing Diversity Nurturing Respect, was unveiled with profound grace and vision. Ms Cheng warmly encouraged us to cherish each individual’s unique strengths and gifts, cultivating an inclusive learning community anchored in God’s love. Illustrating her message with touching examples of everyday kindness, she inspired Holy Familians to put empathy and respect into daily practice, building a school culture where every voice is valued.
Members of the Head Girl Core Group, Konstance Hung, Charisse Lam, and Ada Zhang, then took the stage to offer their eloquent reflections on what it means to embrace diversity and nurture genuine respect. Drawing from their rich summer experiences, they recounted navigating global perspectives at the HKU AI & Us: Socientist Bootcamp, tracing local heritage through a literary walking tour, and experiencing intercultural harmony during the Jeju Choral Exchange Tour. Their heartfelt stories powerfully demonstrated how stepping into another’s shoes broadens our horizons and turns difference into a tapestry of mutual appreciation.
The spirit of appreciation was further deepened by Green Education Team members, Ariel Lee and Charlotte Lam, who expressively recounted their journey of planting incense trees on campus. Observing how three incense trees weathered adversity, from pest threats to varying growth rates, they drew a touching parallel to personal growth. Their story reminded schoolmates to replace toxic comparison with appreciation for peers’ distinct journeys and to emulate the silent, persistent resilience of the incense trees through life’s seasons.
As the final notes of the school song echoed through the hall in unison, a profound sense of gratitude and belonging resonated in every heart. Armed with open minds and compassionate spirits, Holy Familians step into the new school year ready to embrace new perspectives, uplift one another and celebrate each individual’s growth.
