Catholic Formation Programme 2026-2027

Believing that spiritual growth is at the heart of our students’ whole-person development, our school is dedicated to nurturing values and virtues that guide them toward a meaningful and purposeful life.  To provide a comforting and supportive environment where both students and staff can enrich their faith, the Catholic Religious Formation Team has curated a variety of spiritual development initiatives.  We are pleased to share some of the highlights of our activities below.

    1. We were honoured to have the Opening Mass officiated by Fr. Fabio Favata, the Parish Priest of St. Patrick’s Church, in the School Hall on 11 September 2026. Fr. Fabio encouraged us to stay dedicated and establish clear aspirations for the new school year.  He also reminded us to reach out to others when we find ourselves facing challenges.
    2. All S6 Catholics joined the S6 Catholic Students’ Formation co-organised by six Canossian colleges at St. Francis’ Canossian College on 12 September 2026. The Canossian Sisters encouraged S6 girls to take courage to overcome obstacles and reassured them that Jesus is always by their side, bringing them His strength and peace.
    3. Over 150 Catholic students gathered together in the School Hall for a joyful fellowship on 21 September 2026. The students participated in various faith-based games, which allowed them to deepen their religious faith and pray together as one family.  This meaningful gathering encouraged our girls to support each other and stay united in Christ, bringing them closer to God as they begin the new school year.
    4. Education Day on 27 September 2026 was designated by the Catholic Diocese of Hong Kong. To mark this blessed occasion, 13 of our students, accompanied by the Coordinator of our Religious Formation Team, Ms Joyce Shih, attended a special Mass co-officiated by Cardinal Stephen Chow, Rev. Fabio Favata and Rev. Joseph Fan.  Together, they gathered to pray for the mission of Catholic education, asking God to grant educators wisdom and to bless students with a unified spirit of positive values and continuous growth.
    5. On 1 October 2026, about 80 of our S1–S5 Catholic students, accompanied by the Principal and the Teacher Advisors of the Religious Formation Team, embarked on the ‘Messenger of Hope’ Journey to the Holy Spirit Seminary in Aberdeen, which is celebrating its 95th Anniversary this year. Although the weather was extremely hot, we thank God for His abundant blessings, which made our visit a success and deepened our faith.  This visit inspired our girls to shine as messengers of hope in their daily lives.
    6. On 3 October 2026, 17 Catholic Leaders from HFCC accompanied by Ms Vanessa Jim (a Teacher Advisor of the Religious Formation Team), participated in the joint Canossian school formation programme with the theme, "We are Canossian Missionaries", at Pui Tak Canossian College.  During the training programme, our Catholic Leaders collaborated to colour two paintings using Zentangle techniques.  This meditative artistic process deepened their Catholic faith and nurtured their inner patience.  By focusing on every structured pattern, our students transformed their creativity into visual prayer, learning to lead and serve the school community with Gods’s grace.
