Fruit Days on 20.11.2024 and 12.3.2025

With the support of our Home Economics teachers and our vibrant school community, innovative “Fruit Day” events were successfully held on 20 November 2024 and 12 March 12 2025.  They aimed to promote healthy fruit consumption among our dear schoolmates, help them foster healthy eating habits, and create an engaging experience for all participants.

During these delightful events, we distributed fresh fruits to all students and teachers during lunchtime.  A wide variety of common fruits — such as bananas, grapes, strawberries, blueberries, and small tomatoes — were available for everyone to enjoy.  In addition to these familiar fruits, a unique fruit, Passiflora foetida, was introduced.  Many students were fascinated by this unfamiliar fruit and began to develop a curiosity to explore different types of fruits from around the world.

In the first term, we collaborated with the ICT Department.  They provided an AI app for our schoolmates to learn more about various fruits, adding an educational twist to the occasion.  This engaging activity not only made learning about fruits enjoyable but also highlighted the importance of incorporating a variety of fruits into a balanced diet.

In the second term, we partnered with the PTA, which generously sponsored the fruits for the event.  Many parents also helped distribute the fruits.  At the same time, a Q&A game was organized. Students had to answer fruit-related questions, and those who answered correctly received cute, fruit-themed souvenirs as rewards.  This encouraged many students to participate actively in the event.

These events were certainly a great opportunity for our schoolmates to enhance their knowledge of the nutritional benefits of different types of fruits and to help them build healthy habits.  Moreover, this event provided a refreshing boost of energy and vitamins to students after lunch, helping them stay focused and energetic for the rest of their lessons.

Overall, our “Fruit Day” events were a resounding success, combining education and fun in a meaningful way.  It not only promoted healthy habits but also strengthened the bonds within our school community.  We look forward to organising more such impactful events in the future, continuing to inspire our students to live healthier lives.
