This year, the school has organised a variety of Guidance programmes to support students’ mental well-being. These activities provided teachers and students with engaging and memorable experiences, with the “Failure Week” and Mental Health Lunch Programmes being the highlights that were most welcomed by teachers and students.
In February 2025, the Guidance Team hosted a Guidance Week namely “Failure Week” to encourage us to face failure with courage. The event featured a mental health exhibition, an archery tag game, and experience sharing from teachers and students. The “Dustykid” exhibits were displayed all around the campus, drawing our attention and teaching us how to confront setbacks. Teachers and students shared their own stories of failure, offering valuable insights and lessons. By the week-long experience, we had not only learned practical strategies in handling failure but also developed a more positive outlook towards the future.
Additionally, Mental Health Lunch Programmes were held before each test and examination, featuring games, handicraft booths, random dance sessions, snack and beverage corners, exhibitions, and outreach booths run by external organisations. These activities helped us relieve stress before assessments and showcase our talents. The enthusiasm and active participation of the students have been remarkable. Stress tests were also conducted to help us assess our stress levels and identify effective coping methods. During the random dance sessions, students enthusiastically joined in and cheered one another up. These activities aligned perfectly with our school’s yearly theme, “Staying Active Staying Healthy”.
Overall, this year’s Guidance programmes were highly successful. They not only strengthened the bonds among teachers, students, and the school but also equipped everyone with ways to handle failure and pressure. Each event was a valuable experience, enriching our memories and personal growth.
